My Ambition -to be a doctor

I was pretty weak as a child, and I often got sick. Fortunately, we had an excellent family doctor, Dr. Wang. I remember he was an old, kind, and patient man. He had also treated my father when he was little. He had a wonderful manner with his patients. Just being in the same room with him made you feel reassured and safe, even though you were ill. I was only six years old when I made up my mind that I wanted to be a doctor--and not just any doctor. I wanted to be like our family doctor.
Now I am older, but I still have the same burning ambition I had at the age of six. I am determined to become a medical doctor. I don't want to be a specialist. I hope to work in general family medicine, just like Dr. Wang did. I want to be on intimate terms with my patients, so that they know they can trust me. Of course, I am not under any illusions about the difficulty of achieving this goal. That is why I study so hard and always do my best in school. One day, I am sure, I will have my reward.

小時候我身體不好，常常生病；幸好我們有位很棒的家庭醫生-王醫師。我記得他年紀很大，人很慈祥也很有耐心。我父親還小的時候就已經給他看過病了。他對病人的態度非常好，就算身體不舒服，只要和他在一起都會覺得很放心、很平安。我在僅僅六歲的時候就已經下定決心要當一位醫生，而且不是普通的醫生。我希望能像我們的家庭醫生一樣。
現在我長大了，但六歲時所懷抱的宏願依然不變。我決定要當一位內科醫生，而不是某一項專科的醫師。我希望能在家庭醫學科工作，就像王醫師一樣。我想和病人保持很緊密的關係，如此他們才會信任我。當然，我很清楚要達成這個目標會遇到的困難。這也就是為何我這麼用功讀書，並對學校的課業一直盡最大的努力。我很確定有一天我的努力將會有所回報。
